Fulton, MO – The 2018-2019 Mainstage Season Series at William Woods University (WWU) will conclude this week with a production of the children’s tale “Sir Slob and the Princess.” The opening performance of the play will take place this Thursday, April 11, at Dulany Auditorium on the WWU campus.

Poster for Sir Slob and the PrincessThe play tells the story of how a kitchen scullion wins the heart of the beautiful Princess Rosebud. The King has decided it is time for his daughter to marry. After setting a test himself, which all the prospective suitors easily pass, he puts the problem in the hands of the Magician. The test becomes so difficult that nobody wants to try it. Nobody except Sir Slob, who goes off into the woods with his talking horse, where he encounters many dangers. Through ignorance, sheer luck and an honest nature, Sir Slob pratfalls his way past dangers and stumbles over all obstacles to win the hand of the princess.

Performances for Sir Slob and the Princess will take place on April 11-13 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee showing on Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m., all in Dulany Auditorium. The play is intended for audiences of all ages.
