“We chose these shows because they represent a great variety, appealing to audiences who like dramas, musicals, comedies, and topics that offers a different perspective,” shares Joe Potter, assistant professor of performing arts and artistic director of theatre at William Woods.
Bingo The Winning Musical
Oct. 5, 6, and 7 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee on Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.; Dulany Auditorium; all ages
A group of die-hard bingo players will stop at nothing to miss their weekly game. In between the number calling, strange rituals, and fierce competitions, love blossoms and long-lost friends reunite. These lovable characters spring to life with a smart, funny script and bouncy, hummable music. And the audience gets to play bingo!
All Through the Night
Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee on Dec. 2 at 2 p.m.; Cutlip Auditorium; mature audiences
Set during and after the Third Reich, this stylistic, surrealistic play is inspired by interviews with German Gentile women. The play sweeps from their teen years through adulthood during the Holocaust and beyond. The Nazi regime impacts the women’s lives as they struggle over work, religion, marriage, and motherhood.
Faith County
Feb. 22, 23, and 24 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.; Dulany; all ages
Deep in the South, there’s a place where the beehive hairdo is still all the rage and Saturday nights are reserved for the tractor pull. A colorful collection of country folk gather round for this year’s county fair.
Peter/Wendy
April 19, 20, 21 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee April 21 at 2 p.m.; Dulany; all ages (parental guidance recommended)
In a lyrical, low-tech, inventive interpretation, Peter/Wendy pays homage to the darker themes of J. M. Barrie’s original Peter Pan story. Peter lures Wendy away from her nursery to the magical world of Neverland, where she joins his adventures with Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, and the menacing Captain Hook.
All shows are open to the public. Cast members include WWU students and community members. Season ticket prices are $30 for adults, $20 for senior citizens 62+, $15 for children 6–12, and $20 for WWU students, faculty, and staff. Tickets for single performances are $10 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, and $5 for kids. Group rates are available for 10 or more.
