William Woods University was recently ranked 29th on the 2017–2018 list of the Top 50 Best Small Colleges in the country by Best College Reviews.
The list was compiled based on data from the National Center for Education Statistics. The editors looked for colleges and universities that offer small student to faculty ratios, high graduation and retention rates, and low tuition.
The ranking called attention to William Woods’ “excellent education programs”, “unique” Equestrian Studies and American Sign Language programs, and “outstanding online MBA.” In addition, the editors highlighted the university’s “innovative LEAD program,” a leadership experience where students earn a tuition reduction for attending campus events.
“We are extremely proud of this ranking,” says Dr. Jahnae H. Barnett, university president. “William Woods provides an excellent and affordable education in a close-knit community.”
William Woods is the only school in mid-Missouri to make the list, and only one of three schools in the entire state to be included. The full rankings can be seen at www.bestcollegereviews.org.
