Dr. Ted Blashak appointed as first Chief Student Experience Officer at William Woods

Innovative, new cabinet-level position to align and elevate the student experience

Dr. Jeremy Moreland, President of William Woods University (WWU), today announced the appointment of Ted Blashak, Ed.D., as the University’s Chief Student Experience Officer. The new position, a first at WWU, will be a cabinet-level appointment that Dr. Blashak will officially assume on March 14, 2022.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ted Blashak to the critically important position of Chief Student Experience Officer at William Woods,” said President Moreland. “Dr. Blashak’s more than 25 years of experience, focusing on academic quality, operational excellence, market expansion and organizational change in both online and traditional campus-based higher education, will be an asset to our University leadership team as we pursue excellence at William Woods.”

As Chief Student Experience Officer, Dr. Blashak will provide leadership to student affairs, admissions, and marketing. He will serve as a close partner with Academic Affairs and other functional areas at the University, working together to ensure excellence both in and out of the classroom.

Dr. Blashak joins WWU from Acadeum, Inc., a higher education consulting firm based in Austin, Texas where he has served as Vice-President of Institutional Success and Partnership Operations for the past year. Prior to Acadeum, he served as Vice-Provost of Online, Graduate and Adult Education at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida (2019-2021), also an independent university serving undergraduate, graduate and online programs. Additional experience includes serving as Regional Vice-President of Operations for ZOVIO, Inc. (2015-2019), an education technology services company; President of South University (Novi, Michigan) from 2011-2015; President of The Art Institute of Michigan (2007-2011); Corporate Vice-President of Business Research and Effectiveness at Apollo Education Group (2005-2007) and State Vice-President, Campus Director, Associate Campus Director of Finance and Enrollment and Director of Admissions at the University of Phoenix campuses in Detroit, Michigan (1996-2005). Dr. Blashak received his Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix in 2010. He earned his Master’s (Education: Training and Learning Technologies) in 1992 and his Bachelor’s (Organizational Communication) in 1991, both degrees earned from the University of New Mexico.
