Stephanie Heiwig Godke ’73 is a chef at Mississippi River Distillery in LeClaire, Iowa. She also has been hosting a cooking/culinary show in KWQC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Davenport, Iowa, for the past 22 years.

Anne Sallee Mason ’84 was recognized as a Best Lawyer for her work in Trust and Estates in the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. This award is presented to individual attorneys vote with excellent feedback from peers. Only the top 6% of practicing lawyers are recognized.

Carol Morrow Schleif ’84 is the Chief Investment Officer of BMO Family Office, an integrated wealth management provider that serves ultra-affluent individuals in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dr. Jason Price Ed.D.‘20, Ed.S.’14 was recently appointed as Superintendent of the School of the Osage (Mo.) School District. Dr. Price has two decades of service in education, serving as an Assistant Superintendent of the Camdenton (Mo.) School District plus previous experience as Superintendent of the Miller County (Mo.) School District. He also currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.

Scott Zimmerman, Instructor of Leadership and Military Studies, had a letter to the editor published in the nation’s premiere Higher Education magazine, the Chronicle of Higher Education, here: (https://www.chronicle.com/blogs/letters/colleges-should-engage-with-trumps-changes-proactively).

Dr. Jim Concannon, Professor and Dean of the School of Education, delivered a presentation at the Missouri Association of College for Teacher Education (MACTE) conference on February 18 in Columbia, Mo. entitled “Closing the loop between science practices and students’ views about scientific inquiry.”

WWU Equestrian faculty Jennie Petterson and Liz Haben traveled to Tulsa, Okla. on February 28 to represent the university as the EQS program was inducted into the Pinto Horse Hall of Fame.

Jill Mahoney, Director of WWU’s Dulany Library and Associate Professor, recently attended a panel discussion through the American Library Association entitled “OER Evolved: AI, Libraries and the Next Generation of Open Education.” The event explored how AI (Artificial Intelligence) is reshaping OER (Open Educational Resources) creation, curation and accessibility, with libraries playing a crucial roles as hubs of expertise and resources.
