Fulton, MO – Although it will be months before the Class of 2029 enrolls at William Woods University(WWU), today the university announced the recipients of its top two scholarships for incoming students – the McNutt and Provost Awards. The annual competition awards the scholarships to incoming students that will be the most impactful to both the WWU campus community and the world at large.
The winner of the 2025 McNutt Award, named for Amy Shelton McNutt, a William Woods alumna remembered for her dedication to hard work, education and philanthropy, is Abigail Loiterstein, a graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins High School in St. Louis. For winning the award, she will receive a scholarship that covers full tuition, housing, meals and fees.
Winners of the 2025 Provost Award, each of whom receives the scholarship that covers full tuition, are:
Kylie Biegener, Lutheran High School, O’Fallon, Mo.
Jamie Bennett, Hazelwood West High School, Hazelwood, Mo.
Kaylin Puyleart, Pulaski High School, Pulaski, Wis.
Harriet McKane, Boothbay Region High School, Wiscasset, Maine
“I am excited to welcome these exceptional students to our campus,” said Dr. Caroline Boyer, Provost at William Woods University. “These scholarships are a testament to their hard work, and I look forward to what they will accomplish at William Woods.”
To be eligible for the McNutt or Provost Awards, prospective students must meet two of three qualifying requirements, including attaining a minimum ACT composite score of 27; finishing in the top 25% of their graduating class, and maintaining a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.5 (out of 4.0).
Competition for the scholarships consisted of group interviews with the university’s provost and the director of the WWU Honors program, additional panel interviews, and an essay.
