James Concannon, Director of the School of Education, recently had a book, “Evidence-Based Science Activities in Grades 3-5” published. Concannon’s book details science activities to help students achieve a deeper understanding of the subjects in front of them.

Andrew “AJ” Housewright ’15 a staff interpreter with the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH,) recently achieved Master level certification as an interpreter by the Illinois Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI.) BEI is a highly-regarded interpreter evaluation system based in Texas, which allows interpreters who achieve this certification to interpret in any setting. 

John Mott EDS ’17 is the Assistant Principal at Watkins and Disney Elementary schools with Springfield Public Schools. Mott was nominated by the Springfield Association of Elementary Principals as Outstanding Assistant Principal. Mott will be honored at the Missouri Association Elementary Principals in March. 

Darla Wright ’03 has won the United Professional Horseman’s Association (UPHA) Horse Person of the Year award along with her sister. Wright works at her family stables, High Tail Acres, in Newbury, MA. The award was presented January 16th-19th at the UHPA annual conference. 

Renee Biggins ’83 has won the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) Lurline Roth Sportsmanship Award. Biggins works at Premier Stables in Kentucky. The award was presented January 16th-19th at the UPHA annual conference.
