William Woods recognized as a top choice for online education in Missouri

2016_OC_best-online-colleges-sealWilliam Woods University has been recognized by OnlineColleges.net as a top choice for online education in Missouri.

According to the recent report, WWU ranks first in affordability among colleges and universities offering online degrees in Missouri and 13th in Best Online Colleges in Missouri.

“I am very excited about William Woods University receiving this recognition,” Dr. Betsy Tutt, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the graduate college, said. “We are continuing to develop new online programs of study and to build quality into the curriculum. Online education will continue to grow in all of higher education. We plan to be a part of that growth.”

William Woods offers a number of undergraduate degree programs online, including Associate Degree in Liberal Arts, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in in Paralegal Studies and Bachelor of Science in Interpretation Studies in American Sign Language-English.

Online graduate degree programs are Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurial Leadership, Master of Education in Equestrian Education and Master of Education in Teaching and Technology.

A proponent of online learning, Dr. Jahnae H. Barnett, WWU president, said she was pleased WWU’s efforts in online education were acknowledged.

“Online classes allow students to have a choice that best fits into their lifestyles. They have the same objectives and assessments with online classes as they would have in the traditional face-to-face delivery method.”

More than 30 schools in the state have some form of online education. According to a recent NCES report, in fall 2012, 12.2 percent of students enrolled in Title IV institutions in Missouri (54,859 students) were in exclusively online programs.
