Annual Research, Scholarship and Creativity Symposium returns this week to William Woods

Fulton, MO – One of the pivotal events during the academic year, and a true rite of Spring, at William Woods University(WWU) is the annual Symposium for Research, Scholarship and Creativity. The all-day event, which aims to foster collaboration by allowing students and faculty to showcase their research, scholarly pursuits and creative endeavors within the university community, will take place on the WWU campus this Thursday, April 10.

William Woods requires seniors from all majors to present their capstone or final projects in an event open to all WWU students and faculty, enabling the broader university community to engage with and appreciate the diverse scholarly achievements of the student body.

And while senior presentations take the spotlight, the Symposium is a highly inclusive experience, welcoming participation from various campus groups, including Cox Fellowship participants, Mentor-Mentee faculty-student pairs, honors students, faculty, underclassmen and graduate students.

“The Symposium celebrates the research and academic achievements that span our entire campus community, and is a wonderful way to recognize the impressive talent of our students and faculty as the academic year comes to a close,” said Frank Giuseffi Ed.D, Chair of Doctoral Studies and Chair of the Research Symposium Committee. “It is an annual diverse and vibrant academic showcase that looks back on the best that William Woods academics had to offer during the previous year.”

The Symposium spans the entire day, concluding with a Senior Symposium in the evening (with an ASL interpreter). A schedule of Symposium events is on the second page.
