Fulton, MO – Recognized as a professor who delivers the most engaging lectures while being deeply passionate about her subject, Dr. Jessica Manion has been chosen by students at William Woods University (WWU) as this year’s distinguished professor at WWU.
An Assistant Professor of Accounting at WWU, Dr. Manion received the 2024 Louis D. Beaumont Dad’s Association Distinguished Professor of the Year Award as part of the University’s year-end academic honors. The award carries an honorarium and is presented annually to a faculty member who has displayed an outstanding dedication to teaching. Recipients of the award are nominated and chosen by students.
One student who nominated Dr. Manion for the award commented that “this professor is always passionate about her subject and positive about everything us students do.”
Dr. Manion was further praised by another student as someone who “delivers the most engaging lectures I have ever heard, asks really engaging questions and gives us wonderful professional sources to study to help us connect with material and prepare for exams.” Another added that “this professor is always respectful of all of us, and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of each and every one of us. And so funny as well!”
A member of the William Woods faculty since 2019, Dr. Manion’s major areas of interest include Accountancy, Lifelong Learning, Ethics and Philosophy, Organizational Development and Entrepreneurship.
Dr. Manion received her Ed.D in Instructional Leadership (2019), her master’s degree in Accounting (2010) and bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (2009), all from Lindenwood University.
