The final production of the 2017-2018 Mainstage Season Series at William Woods University (WWU) will feature an inventive adaption of a popular story with the production of “Peter and Wendy,” a lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of Peter Pan. The opening performance of the production will take place this Thursday, April 19, at Dulany Auditorium on the WWU campus.
“Peter and Wendy” tells the familiar story of the mischievous and spirited young boy who can fly and never grows up to adulthood, but with a different adaption by Jeremy Bloom. In the play, Peter lures Wendy away from her nursery to the magical world of Neverland, where she joins in the adventures with Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily and the menacing Captain Hook.
A low-tech, inventive take that pays homage to the darker themes of J.M. Barrie’s original, “Peter and Wendy” will mesmerize audiences of all ages. Parental guidance is recommended.
Performances for Peter and Wendy will take place on April 19-21 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee showing on Saturday April 21 at 2 p.m., all in Dulany Auditorium.
