William Woods University’s film club will host the third annual film festival designed to showcase the short films created by current WWU production students and alumni.

“The First Flight Film Festival,” which features short narrative films, advertisements and music videos, will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at B&B Theater Fulton Cinema 8. It is free and open to the public.

This year’s festival is hosted by Emmy Award-winning WWU graduate Caleb Chaney, who is the technical director at WSMV Channel 4 News in Nashville, Tennessee. The screening program will be followed by a question and answer session with the student filmmakers.

The films shown during this festival are production projects such as mock advertisements, narrative genre exercises and book-to-film experiments. There will be a question and answer session with the filmmakers following the screening.  Awards will also be given for categories such as acting and directing.
