WWU student crowned Missouri State Fair Queen

A William Woods University student, Ashley Bauer of
Warrenton, is the 2013 Missouri State Fair Queen.

The
19-year-old studies business administration and equine general studies,
with a concentration in equine
assisted therapy, at WWU. As queen, she will receive a $1,500
scholarship to continue her education.

Bauer will reign over the
remaining State Fair
events through Aug. 18 and be an ambassador for
the Missouri State Fair and
agriculture throughout the coming year. The daughter of Todd and Suzanne Bauer,
she is also Miss Warren County.

Contestants vying for the
crown were judged in multiple
areas, including interview, speech, talent and evening gown. Bauer received the
highest score of 64 contestants in the evening
gown.

“This is
absolutely unfathomable. I am honored to be the representative
for my hometown and the
state of Missouri,” Bauer
said. “It is very meaningful to see all of the hard work between myself
and my support system be rewarded with such a great honor. I look forward to
spending a fantastic 10 days with the people attending
the Missouri State Fair.”
