WWU Sophomore from Odessa, Mo., Named Outstanding

Erica Dyer, a sophomore at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Sophomore Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 20.


The daughter of Marion and Robin Dyer of Odessa, Mo., she is majoring in American Sign Language interpreting.


The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.


Dyer was honored for her involvement in campus organizations and service projects. A transfer student, this is her first year at William Woods, but she has quickly become involved on campus. She is a University Ambassador, an orientation assistant, a peer mentor, and a member of Campus Standards Board, Campus Crusade for Christ and CRV Women’s Group. She has been selected for a community advisor position next year.
