A Dean’s List student, she was honored for her involvement in campus organizations and service projects, including vice president of program development and a community advisor for Alpha Phi sorority. She is a member and past president of the Saddleseat Club. She also is a member of President’s Twenty and University Ambassadors.

McMichael was captain of the U.S. Saddle Seat Invitational Team, which won a gold medal competing in Worcester, South Africa, in January. She also was a member of the U.S. Saddle Seat World Cup Team, which won a gold medal in October.

She was recognized by Alpha Phi for equestrian and chapter accomplishments at the 2005 regional conference.
