Andrew Nickless of Festus, Mo., has received a $3,125 scholarship from Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF) in recognition of his achievements at William Woods University. He is a senior, majoring in education.
Money for the scholarship came from Citi Foundation, which provided $50,000 to Missouri Colleges Fund to fund 16 unrestricted teacher-preparation scholarships at MCF-member independent colleges and universities.
The Citi Foundation Teacher Preparation scholarship is given to a graduating senior who intends to teach math or science in a public school in Missouri next fall.
While at WWU, Nickless has been named to the Dean’s List every semester. He is involved in campus activities and in the community. Nickless serves as vice president of Kappa Delta Pi, an education honor society, and has served as the secretary for his fraternity. He also volunteers at local animal shelters.
