WWU riders win ribbons at Class A Arabian horse show

William Woods
University equestrian students competed at the Missouri-Kansas Border Bonanza
in Kansas City, Mo., April 27-29. Each
year, the Eastern Kansas Arabian Horse Association partners with the Greater
Kansas City Arabian Horse Association to present the Border Bonanza, a class A
show.

“It’s always exciting
for me to take William Woods horses and riders to a horse show. I love showing
off the wonderful horses and superb professionalism of the students,” said
Jennie Petterson, western instructor. “This show was not only successful in
terms of championships and ribbons won, but also because the students left a
lasting, positive impression on professionals in the industry.”

Eight university-owned
horses were trailered to the competition, along with 12 riders. Two students
competed on their personal horses.

“The hard work and
dedication of the students was evident in their overwhelming success in the
ring at this show,” Petterson said. “I am especially proud of the collection of
horses and riders that competed. We had students and horses from both saddle
seat and western, and we all worked together to make the show experience a
positive one.”
