The William Woods University Hunter/Jumper Show Team will host its annual Fall Jumping Derby on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to mid-afternoon. The derby is free and open to the public. It is recommended that spectators bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.
The derby will be held at the cross country course on the north end of campus, north of Firley Soccer Field. Follow the road through campus that leads past Aldridge Recreation Center and Junior Lake to the soccer field.
The show will consist of traditional hunter/jumper classes, the famous hunt teams class, and high and low jumping derbies. The jumps will get progressively higher during the derby, with the lowest jumps in the beginning classes and the highest in the classes toward the end.
The 2004 Jumping Derby is a member of the Missouri Horse Shows Association and the Missouri Hunter Jumper Organization. Money from the derby will help send show team members and WWU show horses to nationally recognized horse competitions.
