WWU Plans Winter Fun Show for First Weekend in March

William Woods University will hold its equestrian Winter Fun Show March 4-6. The show will be held in the indoor arena on campus, and will consist of hunters, jumpers, saddle seat and western.

The Winter Fun Show is unique because it is really three one-day shows. The jumper divisions will be on Friday, starting at 4 p.m. Saturday is for the hunter divisions, starting at 9 a.m. Sunday is for saddle seat and western, starting at 9:30 a.m.

The show is recognized by the Missouri Horse Shows Association and the Missouri Hunter Jumper Organization. It has won many awards for Horse Show of the Year. The show is for a wide variety of riders, and strives to be an affordable competition with a fun-filled atmosphere.

Outside riders and horses are welcome, and stalls are available for $30 a day. The cost is $15 per class for jumpers, $10 per class for the hunters, and $5 per class for saddle seat and western. There is no charge for spectators.

The Winter Fun Show is put on by the Hunter Jumper Show Team at William Woods. It is part of an annual fund-raising effort to support an ‘A’ show they will attend in the spring.

Ribbons or trophies will be given in all classes for places first through sixth. The prize list can be found on the William Woods website, www.williamwoods.edu.
