WWU Hosts Annual Winter Fun Show

Each year the William Woods University Hunter/Jumper Show Team works hard to host an annual Winter Fun Show, and this year is no exception. Saturday and Sunday (March 7-8) students and outside riders will compete in this fun-filled event, boasting a variety of classes, good food and quality prizes and ribbons.

The show provides members of the Hunter/Jumper Show Team with valuable horse show management experience, and the proceeds help defray the cost of the riders attending a national level competition in the spring.  Students run every aspect of the show, serving as secretary, announcer, course designer, paddock master and more.

The Winter Fun Show is recognized by both the Missouri Horse Shows Association (MHSA) and the Missouri Hunter Jumper Organization (MOHJO) and has won multiple “horse show of the year” awards in its category.

The show will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday with the jumper portion, culminating with the Level 4 Jumper Classic. Sunday’s hunter events begin at 8 a.m., and include ground rails and cross rail classes, as well as beginner, low hunter and MHSA Medallion classes.
