A horse owned by William Woods University has won a United States Equestrian Federation Horse of the Year Award. Prazer OBF (Frazier) ranked third in the Half/Anglo Arabian Sport Horse in Region 5 for the competition year.
The award was earned over the course of the year. Tara Rattray, a December 2009 WWU graduate, took Frazier home to Othello, Wash., for the summer and qualified him for Sport Horse Nationals. She then showed him at Sport Horse Nationals in Lexington, Ky., in September.
“This award is exciting for us since it is the second division that this horse has been recognized for in the USEF Horse of the Year standings,” Jennifer Petterson, WWU instructor of equestrian science, said. “Last year he won numerous Horse of the Year awards in the Half Andalusian/Lusitano division.”
