Sarah Munns recently joined William Woods University as the new dean of admissions. She comes to WWU with extensive experience in the admissions, enrollment services and financial aid areas.
Munns completed her bachelor of arts degree at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., where she studied interdisciplinary studies in communication and elementary education. She also completed the Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Summer Institute at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, in 2004.
Upon graduation from Central Methodist University in 1998, Munns joined the staff as an admissions counselor. She managed one of five territories, organized and advised an effective Student Ambassador Program and served on retention, orientation, residence hall renovation and Greek committees.
Two years later, she was promoted to assistant director of admissions for the university and helped to generate a record incoming freshman class.
In 2002, she was named the regional director of enrollment services at Westminster College. A year later she added the responsibilities of assistant director of financial aid.
In 2006 she was promoted to assistant director of enrollment services and assistant director of financial aid. She also served as a member of the strategic planning committee and the admissions committee for Westminster College.
For the past two years, Munns has worked as an account executive for MOHELA (Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority).
Munns has been active in several organizations, including the Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling, the National Association of College Admissions Counseling and the program committee of the Missouri Association for Financial Aid Professionals.
