WWU Brings Home Awards from Janian Show

William Woods University students returned from the Janian Series Horse Shows in Columbia, Mo., Oct. 28-29, with multiple awards.


Ten horse and rider teams competed and represented the school well.


Jennifer Holdren of Louisville, Ky., rode Promise to Command to win the Morgan Open English Pleasure class. The pair later took fifth place in the MHSA English Pleasure class.


Austin Eversman of West Bend, Wis., showed New York State of Mind to win the ASB Park Open/Amateur class.


Erin Kilray of Newington, Conn., teamed with Champagne’s Dance With Me to win the ASB 3-Gaited Show Pleasure, All Ages class.


Mary Mandel of Lander, Wyo., teamed up with Callaway’s Connie Mack to take second in ASB 5-Gaited Pleasure, All Ages.


Chelsie Smith of Monroe, N.C., rode Longview’s Echo to a third place ribbon in ASB 3-Gaited Show Pleasure, All Ages.


Amber Luce of Auburn, Wash., rode Auhl That Jazz to a fourth place ribbon in the Morgan Open English Pleasure class.


Kathleen Sullivan of Whitesboro, N.Y., showed Uncle Buck’s Girl to a fifth place ribbon in ASB 5-Gaited Pleasure, All Ages.


Laura Peters of Ferdinand, Ind., showed Bent Tree’s Contessa to a sixth place ribbon in the MHSA English Pleasure class, and went on to take sixth in the ASB 3-
Gaited Show Pleasure, All Ages class as well.


Marie Bouvet of Lakeville, Minn., rode Chief of Red Oak to a sixth place finish in ASB 5-Gaited Pleasure, All Ages.


Michelle Macklin of Key Biscayne, Fla., competed with Independently Wealthy in five classes, Open Hunter Pleasure, Morgan Hunter Pleasure, Hunter Seat Equitation, Amateur, All Ages, Morgan Western Pleasure, and Stock Seat Equitation Adult Rider. The pair took ribbons in all classes, including second place in Open Hunter Pleasure, and third in Hunter Seat Equitation.
