Former students from as far away as Montana journeyed to William Woods University last weekend to pay homage to Dr. Mary Spratt, the 2008 Missouri Professor of the Year.
As part of Alumni Weekend, the WWU Alumni Board added “a champagne toast to Dr. Mary Spratt” to its agenda. Spratt, who is Cox Distinguished Professor in Science at WWU, received the award Nov. 20 in Washington, D.C.
Sponsored by The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and administered by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the award recognizes professors for outstanding commitment in teaching undergraduate students.
Because of her enthusiasm and passion, Dr. Spratt has impacted the lives of numerous students during her 15 years at William Woods. As alumni, they have gone on to be pharmacists, veterinarians, physicians, physician assistants, teachers and scientists.
