Wortmann Named Outstanding Freshman

Katherine WortmannKatherine Wortmann of Mexico, Mo., received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Freshman Award at William Woods University’s recent co-curricular honors banquet.

 


The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.

 

Wortmann is a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, where she is historian and serves on the executive board.

 

She is Student Alumni Council freshman class president, vice president and historian of Hands Up! Club, education chair of Knowing the Woods and a Freshman Advantage mentor. She is a member of President’s Twenty, Campus Activities Board, Multicultural Affairs Club, Student Assembly, Kindness Connection, Up ’Till Dawn for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Psychology Club.

 

She has volunteered with CARD-V, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Service for Sight, Missouri School for the Deaf, Kindness Connection and SERVE.
