Heather Libbert and Amy Marquart, seniors at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., have been named to the 2003 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
Libbert is the daughter of Loyd and Dina Libbert of Freeburg, and Marquart is the daughter of Craig and Cherri Marquart of Belle. Both will graduate May 10 with bachelor of science degrees in elementary education.
By their listing in “Who’s Who,” Libbert and Marquart join an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Libbert was honored for her involvement in numerous campus organizations and service projects, including campus coordinator of the Little Brothers/Little Sisters program and campus orientation assistant.
She was president of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honorary, vice president of Alpha Chi Honor Society and consistently on the Dean’s List.
Libbert worked as a nursery and preschool assistant at The Growing Years Child Development Center and as a preschool assistant at Fulton Preschool while she attended William Woods. She also was a YMCA summer camp counselor in Jefferson City in 2000 and a summer school teacher in Westphalia in 2001 and 2002.
Marquart was honored for her involvement in numerous campus organizations and service projects, including class president sophomore, junior and senior years; Student Alumni Council president; phone-a-thon student supervisor; head community advisor; Community Center volunteer, orientation assistant and Community Board of Trustees.
She was consistently on the Dean’s List and was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honorary. She also was honored as one of the outstanding juniors last year.
