William Woods Riders Take Honors at Discovery Show

Riders from William Woods University’s equestrian science program took home honors at the Discovery Horse Show on Sept. 10 in Columbia, Mo.


The WWU students were all instructed by Gayle Lampe, professor of equestrian science, and coached at this show by Laura Ward, equestrian studies division chair. The following students won ribbons:


• Marie Bouvet of Lakeville, Minn., 4th place-MHSA Open English Pleasure on Bandalino; 2nd place-Morgan English Pleasure, Open, and 1st place-Morgan English Pleasure Amateur Rider on MJK Seize Command.


• Kirsten Lorence of Eden Prarie, Minn., 1st place-ASB Three Gaited Open on Callaway’s Abigail Adams.


• Chelsie Smith of Monroe, N.C., 2nd place-ASB Three Gaited Open on Vadimus.


• Sarah MacKenna of Wilmot, N.H., 1st place-ASB Three Gaited Show Pleasure, 17 & Under and 1st place-Saddleseat Equitation, 17 & Under on Desert’s Supreme Cowboy.


• Brandi Foster of Tully, N.Y., 1st place-ASB Country English Pleasure, 18 & Over on CH Odds on Spectre.


• Lauren Bricking of Louisville, Ky., 6th place-ASB Country English Pleasure, 18 & Over on Titlest Baywatch and 3rd place-ASB Five Gaited Pleasure on Callaway’s Connie Mack.


• Jenn Holdren of Louisville, Ky., 1st place-Morgan English Pleasure, Open on Promise to Command.


• Angie Noah of St. Paul, Mo., 1st place-ASB Five Gaited Country Pleasure on Heir Head.


Laura Peters of Ferdinand, Ind., 2nd place-ASB Five Gaited Pleasure on Mondial.
