William Woods Announces April Events

William Woods University has a number of cultural events planned for April. All are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted. The events include:


· “The Son’s Room” of the International Film Series, 4 and 7 p.m. April 2 in the Library Auditorium.


· The Senior Spring Art Show and paintings, ceramics and jewelry by WWU alumni Romney Nesbit and Audrey Schmitz. The exhibits will be April 3 to May 3 in the Mildred Cox Gallery of the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.


· A Horse Vaulting Fest and Clinic 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 5-6 in the Indoor Arena of the Equestrian Complex.


· “The Producers” of the American Film Series, 4 and 7 p.m. April 9 in the Library Auditorium.


· Glen Chambers and his river otters for an early Earth Week program at 7:30 p.m. April 10 in the Helen Stephens Sports Complex.


· A Western Horse Show 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 12 in the Indoor Arena of the Equestrian Complex.


· A Saddle Seat and Western Horse Show 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13 in the Indoor Arena of the Equestrian Complex.


· The movie “Office Space” at 6:30 p.m. April 16 in the Library Auditorium.

· “Faith County,” a hilarious comedy involving life, love and death at the Faith County Fair. It is scheduled for April 25 and 26 and May 2 and 3 at 8 p.m., with a matinee performance April 27 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults; $5 for ages 3-12 and 55 and up.


· A Dressage Horse Show 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 26-27 in the Indoor Arena of the Equestrian Complex.

In addition to the cultural events, on April 11-12 William Woods will sponsor “WWU 101: The Journey Begins,” an event for students planning to enter William Woods in the fall.

The Academic Honors Convocation will be held at 4 p.m. April 23 in Dulany Auditorium, followed by the Co-Curricular Honors Banquet in Tucker Dining Hall.

Alumni Weekend is scheduled for April 25-27.
