William Woods alumnae win Missouri State Fair horse show championships

William Woods University alumnae and university-owned horses earned three championships and three grand championships at the Missouri State Fair horse show Aug. 1-6.

WWU alumna Danielle Benson Costanza of Columbia and American Saddlebred, “Hot Apple Cider,” won the Three-Gaited Show Pleasure championship and grand championship.

Alumna Colleen Harper-Hertzog of Fulton won the Five-Gaited Amateur championship and grand championship with American Saddlebred, “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves,” and the Five-Gaited Show Pleasure championship and grand championship with American Saddlebred, “Undulata’s Perfect Alibi.”

Alumna Sarah Track, WWU’s saddle seat instructor, and “Goodfella” won the Open Park Pleasure class and earned a third place finish in the championship.

Lauren Thompson, a senior at William Woods, showed “The Kingmaker” to a fourth and fifth placing in big Three-Gaited Show Pleasure classes.
