William Woods 5K Promotes Health and Wellness

Fifty runners lined up Saturday
to run the William Woods University Fourth Annual Woods Way 5K, presented by
The Woods Way Wellness Committee.

First place for males
was Mitch Beck of Jefferson City. Christopher Crull of Holts Summit, came in
second, and Don Archer of Tebbetts came in third.
 
First place for females
was Brenda Archer of Tebbetts. Emma Baltuskonis, a WWU student from San
Antonio, Texas, came in second, and Elaine Foster of Jefferson City came in
third.
 
In addition, Shawn Hull,
William Woods University history professor, earned the traveling trophy for the
WWU Behavioral and Social Science Division for being the first faculty member
to finish the race.
 
The event was for
runners and walkers. Participants could choose whether they would like to be
timed to fulfill competitive streaks or to simply run at their own pace to
enjoy the day. Each year, the event is organized as a family-friendly event, so
strollers are permitted.
 
The event was sponsored by Fresh Ideas and Anytime Fitness.
