Wildwood Resident Receives Award from William Woods University

Judy Kuergeleis Schmuck received the Green Owl Award from William Woods University during Alumni Weekend April 20-22. Schmuck and her husband, Jim, live in Wildwood.

Schmuck was also elected first vice president of the WWU Alumni Association Board of Directors. She has been second vice president the past two years. In addition, she has held a number of leadership positions in Alpha Chi Omega sorority and is currently advisor for the chapter on campus.

Green Owl Awards were first presented in 1961. They honor those alumni who have given years of service to the alumni association and the university.

A 1972 graduate and longtime WWU supporter, Judy Schmuck and her family have received several awards from WWU to honor their dedicated service.

Judy received the Outstanding Service Award from the university in 2000. Her father, Charles Kuergeleis, is first vice chair of the William Woods University Board of Trustees. He was named an Honorary Alumnus in 2004.

Jim Schmuck received the Order of the Owl Award in 2005. The award is given to honor the spouse of an alumnus who has shown a special interest in promoting and supporting the activities of the university.
