Western Club Fun Show Provides Experience for WWU Equestrians

The Western Club at William Woods University recently held its annual Western Club Fun Show, which included classes for saddle seat, hunt seat and western riders.

The fun show, held Sept. 21, provided horse show experience for everyone, including students grooming for a rider, helping run the show or competing. For project riders, it was a good way to see how their horse’s training was coming along. For riders who did not have a lot of experience showing, the show was a relaxing and fun introduction to being a competitor.

Riders also had the opportunity to compete in entertaining classes in the afternoon. Games such as egg and spoon race, barrels, poles and ride a buck were held. Open freestyle reining was also offered.

All proceeds will benefit the Western Club for any future on-and-off campus shows and field trips.
