Welton Receives Missouri Colleges Fund Scholarship

Brittany Welton of Willow Springs, Mo., has received a scholarship from Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF) in recognition of her achievements at William Woods University. She is a senior, majoring in accounting.


Money for the scholarship came from Emerson, which provided $16,000 for student scholarships on MCF-member campuses. The award is given to an outstanding representative of each school.


Welton is active on campus. Involved in Alpha Chi Omega sorority, she has held the position of president, vice president in communication and historian. She is a member of the Order of Omega, Delta Epsilon Chi, President’s Twenty and Campus Crusade for Christ.


She also was selected for an Outstanding Student award in 2007, a Gamma Phi Alpha Award and the Alpha Chi Omega Academic Excellence Award. She is a member of the honors program and is on the Dean’s List.


Her community service activities include CARD-V volunteer, SERVE, Inc., volunteer drive coordinator for Alpha Chi Omega, blood drive volunteer and a Young Life leader.


In addition, Welton also works in the University Advancement Office and as a University Ambassador for William Woods University.
