Heather Gastler of Wellsville, Mo., has been named to the 2010 edition of “Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” She graduated from William Woods University Saturday with a bachelor of science degree.
Gastler was one out of eight William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who based on being an outstanding campus leader.
A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
By being listed in “Who’s Who,” Gastler joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
Gastler is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa leadership fraternity, Alpha Chi academic honor society and Kappa Delta Pi education honor society. She is also the treasurer of EDU Owls Education Club and has been a tutor at Bush Accelerated School all four years at WWU.
