Two William Woods University art majors were selected to exhibit work in the Four State College Salon, sponsored by the Missouri Southern State University Art League in Joplin.
The students are Megan Colbert, a junior from Curryville, and Sarah Williams, a sophomore from Brookfield. Art professor Terry L. Martin called it “A wonderful student accomplishment.”
Mo Neal, professor of sculpture at the University of Nebraska, will jury the exhibit, which opened Jan. 12 and runs to Feb. 7. Prizes will be awarded.
Colbert submitted a male figure study done in pastel that she had completed as part of her mentor-mentee project this year with Jane Mudd, instructor of art at WWU. Williams submitted an oil painting of a still life done in painting III class during the fall semester. The still life contains a mounted wood duck, lawn ornament of an angel, a few perfume bottles and various other items.
