Andy Hamilton, of Troy, Mo., a junior at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo., received a Student Alumni Council Outstanding Junior Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 23.
He is the son of Nelly and Reno Hamilton.
The Outstanding Student Awards are the only awards at William Woods University bestowed on students by the nomination and vote of other students. Nominees must demonstrate academic achievement, campus and community involvement and leadership.
Hamilton is actively involved in the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, holding various leadership positions including judicial board member, corresponding secretary and historian, as well as serving on the philanthropy and fundraising committee.
In addition to his work with Phi Gamma Delta, he is a community advisor and social chair for the Greek Council.
He has participated in various community service activities that include highway cleanup, helping set up blood drives for the American Red Cross, playing bingo at Fulton nursing homes and helping with Phi Gamma Delta’s philanthropy, Dudes for Diapers.
