A fairy tale for the whole family will be the next theatre production by the William Woods University. The play, “Jerry the Katler,” is intended for “kids in the community ages 3 to 99.”
Roy Hudson’s story is set in the time of magic, fantasy and indoor plumbing. Performances are scheduled for Dec. 2, 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 4 and 5 at 2:30 p.m. in Dulany Auditorium.
The cast features Kristin Bailey of Columbia, Mo., as General; Lindsey Arnold of Edmond, Okla., as Priestess; Joshua Potter of Fulton, Mo., as King; Meghan Parks of Quincy, Ill., as Queen; Danielle Wheeler of Brandon, Miss., as Nell, and Hunter Nesbitt of Jenks, Okla., as Jerry the Katler.
Also, Brianne Kokemuller of Clinton, Iowa, as Attendant; Stephanie A. Powers of Florissant, Mo., as Cook; Taylor Davidson of Kansas City, Mo., as Herald; Genevieve Jimenez of St. Peters, Mo., as Maid, and Maggie Inhofe of St. Peters, Mo., as Panther.
Cast as Shadows of the Underworld, Towns People and Soldiers are Laura Hays of Jefferson City, Mo.; Daniel Saults of Rolla, Mo.; Chris Cunningham of McLean, Va.; Sharree LaMere of Columbia, Mo., and Charles Dunlap of Fulton, Mo.
The student crew includes Alarie Sims of Blue Springs, Mo., stage manager; Jamie Heisler of Portland, Ore., sound engineer; Jared Krichevsky of Culver City, Calif., master electrician; Mike Zumalt of Fenton, Mo., box office; Ryan Paul of Olathe, Kan., assistant stage manager; Shaun Speers of O’Fallon, Mo., props/special effects, and Dan Binning of, St. Charles, Mo., stage crew.
To quote the play catalogue, “This hilarious tale follows the antics of an abandoned young girl, her imaginary and mischievous playmate, two inept and scheming villains, and a panther.”
