‘The Insulting Princess,’ a play for children, to be performed at WWU

princess26b“The Insulting Princess,” a play for children, will be performed at William Woods University March 13-15 in Dulany Auditorium.

Show times are: 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets for the one-act, 50-minute production will be sold at the door. Adult admission is $3. Tickets for children under age 12 are $1.

Classified as a comedy/fantasy, the play was written by Sandra Fenichel Asher, an award-winning author of more than two dozen plays and 25 books and editor of five fiction anthologies.

During the play, every time a suitor comes to call, Princess Greta drives him away with a royal, rhyming insult—much princess16bto the dismay of the King and Queen. Alfred the Baker saves the day, using the most unconventional method to cure Greta of her insulting habit.
