Terry Martin, professor of art at William Woods University, will present two family art workshops in July at the Dunklin Street Gallery in Jefferson City.
Inspired by Picasso, who believed that all children are creative and have a talent for drawing, painting and all other art forms, Martin hopes the workshops will be a stimulus for and an adventure into the world of creativity.
The workshops will be held two Saturdays, July 24 and July 31, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The first workshop will be about color and the second one will cover form. Parents will observe the children at work and will be encouraged to continue working with the child at home.
Participants will need to bring a canvas board (no smaller than 8×10), acrylic paint colors: blue, red and yellow, and a ½-inch craft brush. All other art supplies, including easels and clay, will be provided.
Enrollment fee for Martin’s workshop is $35 per session per child. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. For more information or to request an application, contact Dotty Ewers at (573) 893-5635.
