Members of William Woods University’s Sigma Tau Delta English Honorary are raising money to send students to the annual international conference.
They will hold a book sale on Feb. 10, 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will be set up on WWU’s campus in the hallway between the library and the administration building. The sale is open to the public.
The William Woods students have gathered a large collection of diverse books. There will be everything from children’s storybooks to paperback romances to textbooks. Not only are there several different genre of reading to choose from, but all of the books are priced extremely reasonable. The cost will range from 50 cents to $5.
All of the proceeds will cover the expenses of sending students to the Sigma Tau Delta 2005 International Convention March 16-20 in Kansas City, Mo. The convention will feature several workshops, including one where students will be able to interact with the famous poet, Henri Cole. Keynote speaker is Jamaica Kincaid.
“The book sale is an excellent opportunity for these students to share their love for literature with other people,” explains Katricia Pierson, assistant professor of English and Sigma Tau Delta faculty sponsor.
