St. Louis Residents Named to Who’s Who

Two St. Louis area students were named to the 2008 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” Sarah Popelka of Clayton, Mo., and Morgan Presley of St. Louis, Mo., both seniors at William Woods University, received the award.


Popelka, the daughter of Jason and Janet Popelka, is majoring in biology. Presley, the daughter of Judd and Peggy Presley, is majoring in communications


They were among 13 William Woods University students selected for Who’s Who, based on outstanding campus leadership. A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.


By being listed in “Who’s Who,” they join an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.An active member of Delta Gamma sorority, Popelka has served as president, vice president of programming, director of public relations and director of activities. She is secretary for the biology club and serves on President’s Twenty.


Popelka received the Outstanding Junior award and is a member of the Order of Omega, national Greek honor society, and Beta Beta Beta, a national honors society for biology majors.


A member of Delta Gamma sorority, Presley has served as director of program development, director of scholarship and vice president. She also is a member of the Order of Omega, Greek honor society.


Presley is an active member of President’s Twenty, currently serving as chair. She is a member of Student Alumni Council, Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, Delta Epsilon Chi business club and has served as a community advisor.
