The oil collage paintings of a St. Charles artist are on display through Jan. 28 in the Cox Gallery of the Gladys Woods Kemper Center for the Arts at William Woods University.
The artist, Shirley Nachtrieb, describes her work as earthy, organic and multimedia. She enjoys painting from nature and then interpreting her images into collages using additional textures.
She has been a freelance artist and teacher for more than 30 years, is a four-time winner of the prestigious Grumbacher Award of Excellence, has been published in several books and is a member of the St. Louis Artist Guild, the Society of Layerists in Multimedia and a juried member of the Best of Missouri Hands.
A public reception will be held at the close of the exhibit on Jan. 28 from 2-4 p.m.
The Cox Gallery is open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, call (573) 592-4245.
