Justin Shy of Festus, Mo., a senior at William Woods University, has been named to the 2002 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
The son of Darrel and Sharon Shy, he was one of nine William Woods University students selected as national outstanding campus leaders.
A campus nominating committee and editors of the annual directory chose the students based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
Shy joins an elite group of students from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.
While at William Woods, Shy has been a member of the varsity baseball team and served as team captain the past two years. He chaired President’s Twenty and was a member of the Judicial Board. A Founding Father of Pi Kappa Alpha at WWU, he served as treasurer of the fraternity. He also participated in Little Brother/Little Sister program and served as head community advisor for his residence hall.
