Second Annual CourtWarming Planned at WWU

The Student Alumni Council at William Woods University hoped to celebrate school spirit and start a new tradition last year by creating a CourtWarming. The event was successful, and the second annual CourtWarming is planned for next week.

Students will vote throughout the week to elect a King and Queen and their Court for WWU’s CourtWarming. Events are planned during the week to encourage school spirit, leading to the finale—CourtWarming on Saturday.

Sponsored by the Student Alumni Council, CourtWarming activities include a bonfire at 9 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 29) along Junior Lake and pep rally at 8 p.m. Friday (Jan. 30) at the Helen Stephens Sports Complex. In addition, a brunch for the basketball players and their families will be held on Saturday (Jan. 31).

Coronation of the Court will occur Saturday between the women’s basketball game, which is scheduled at 2 p.m., and the men’s basketball game, which is set to tip off at 4 p.m., both games are in the Helen Stephens Sports Complex against Missouri Baptist University.

The Snow Ball, a dance sponsored by Campus Activities Board, will be held Saturday night at the Grille at Tanglewood.
