Aimee Sapp, assistant professor of communication arts at William Woods University, received the Louis D. Beaumont Dad’s Association Distinguished Professor Award for Excellence in Teaching at the university’s academic convocation April 21.
The award carries a $3,000 honorarium and is given annually to a faculty member who has displayed dedication to teaching. Sapp, a Columbia resident, has taught at the university since 1998. Before that, she taught at the University of Northern Colorado and the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Sapp received her bachelor of science degree from William Woods in 1992, her master of arts in communication degree from the University of Northern Colorado in 1994, and her Ph.D. in communication at the University of Missouri in 2002.
She is a member of the National Communication Association, the American Society for Training and Development and the Western States Communication Association.
