Professor Wins International Award

Artwork by Terry Martin, William Woods University professor of studio art, won third place in the International Society of Experimental Artists’ 2003 exhibit being held at the Beverly Arts Center of Chicago Sept. 20 through Oct. 18.

Martin, a resident of Jefferson City, has taught at William Woods since 1989. He received the Louis D. Beaumont Dad’s Association Distinguished Professor Award for Excellence in Teaching at WWU in 1990 and the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2002.

He is a signature member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society and is also a member of the Missouri Watercolor Society and the International Society of Experimental Artists.

Martin has earned bachelor of science, master of education and master of fine arts degrees, all from the University of Missouri.
