Jody Paschal, a William Woods University alumnus, received the Alumni Service Award at the Fulton Colleges Board of Associates annual dinner Tuesday night at WWU.
A graduate of North Callaway High School, he was the recipient of a Board of Associates scholarship several years ago, and David Crane, BOA president, said Paschal serves as a prime example of an area student attending college locally and staying on to contribute to the community.
During his years at William Woods, Paschal was a theatre major and performed in productions such as “Wizard of Oz,” “Oklahoma,” “the Glass Menagerie” and others. He was the recipient of numerous theatre awards while at William Woods, and was president of the Alpha Psi Omega theatre fraternity and president of the Jester’s theatre club. Paschal continues to be involved in the university’s theatre department and has served as a guest director, a theatre portfolio critic and actor.
Recently, Paschal celebrated the first anniversary of his ownership of Gidley’s Shoe Store in Fulton. He is the president of the Fulton Downtown Association, president of Friends of the Churchill Memorial and social chair at the Fulton Country Club.
He is a volunteer for the Fulton Street Fair and the Callaway County United Way. He has been a guest director at St. Peter Catholic School and is a member of the Community Acting Guild. Paschal participates in the WWU-Callaway Alumni events, is a member of the Board of Associates and is a contributor to the Fulton Colleges Fund.
