Jennifer Palmer, a junior at William Woods University, received the Helen Stephens Award at the university’s co-curricular honors banquet, April 23. She is the daughter of Leigh Palmer of St. Thomas, V.I., and Gary Palmer of Nixa, Mo.
The award is presented to an outstanding junior athlete who has achieved excellence both in the classroom and in the area of intercollegiate athletics. The student must demonstrate the talent, discipline and desire that best describes the legacy of Olympic Gold medallist and William Woods alumna Helen Stephens.
A varsity soccer player, she served as team captain during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. She was named AMC Soccer Academic All-Conference in 2002 and 2003 and
Soccer 1st Team AMC All-Conference in 2003.
A biology major, Palmer is a member of Alpha Chi National Honorary Society.
