Sophomore Jessica Bargate of Jefferson City, Mo., was chosen as the new chair, while Eliza Payne, a junior from Zionsville, Ind., was elected as the new recording secretary.

Eliza Payne“Eliza previously held the position of chair of Student Assembly and she was reliable and effective in communicating students concerns,” stated Venita Mitchell, dean of Student Life. “She is very committed to WWU through active leadership involvement in a variety of positions on campus and her continued involvement in Student Assembly will be appreciated.”

Mitchell added, “Jessica served as the recording secretary last term and is now stepping up to the chair position. She is a very creative student so I believe, because of her, students will find some new energy in the assembly.”

Student Assembly provides an open forum where students may voice concerns, share ideas and form linkages within the campus community. It is also designed to increase effective communication among students and the rest of the university. All students are encouraged and welcome to participate in the monthly meetings.
