New Dean of Graduate & Adult Business Programs Named at WWU

Sean P. Siebert, vice president and dean of Graduate & Adult Studies enrollment services at William Woods University, has added additional responsibilities as dean of Graduate & Adult Studies business programs.

These programs include the master of business administration and the bachelor of science in management degree programs. David Forster, chair of the business and economics division, will continue leadership oversight of the on-campus, traditional business and economics program.

In announcing the appointment, Dr. Jahnae H. Barnett, university president, said, “Sean Siebert has extensive experience and expertise in higher education administration, particularly in the area of adult education. That experience, together with his leadership in strategic operations, makes him the ideal candidate to lead William Woods University’s Graduate & Adult Studies business programs at this important juncture.”

In addition to administrative responsibilities, Siebert has served in various academic roles at William Woods. These duties include teaching in traditional academic programs, graduate and adult business programs and program manager for the master of business administration healthcare program.

Siebert said, “I am truly devoted to the education of adults; it is my passion. I look forward to continued relationships with William Woods University’s faculty and staff to develop new opportunities for the adult learner.”

He added, “It is our mission to create lifelong learning opportunities for students of all ages. To accomplish this, we must develop an awareness of the benefits of lifelong learning.”

If students are to succeed in the 21st century, Siebert said they must understand the value of education and the concept of learning throughout the life span. He said he is pleased to see that William Woods University graduate and adult business programs are helping to convey this message.

“William Woods University standard for academic excellence and our mission to prepare students to respond to the changing business world will enable me to strengthen community relationships, address workforce needs and provide a vision for our convenient and accessible learning opportunities,” Siebert said.

Prior to joining William Woods University, Siebert was the manager of business and financial operations for the department of child health and human resource manager for the department of internal medicine at the University of Missouri – Columbia.

A Fulton resident, Siebert earned an associate’s degree from St. Louis Community College, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a master’s degree from William Woods University and is a doctoral student with Webster University.

At William Woods, Siebert has served as chair of the Blue Springs Expansion Committee, chair of the Arkansas Expansion Committee, member of the Woods Way Committee, member of Strategic Planning Committee, member of the Marketing Committee and member of the Distinguished Scholar and McNutt Scholarship Committee.

Siebert has made numerous professional presentations across the Midwest, and is the author of several articles including publication in the Wall Street Journal online.
